{"id":67,"date":"2019-04-03T16:39:04","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T16:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mqc.madeira.gov.pt\/sa\/?p=67"},"modified":"2019-04-04T16:38:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T16:38:13","slug":"dining-room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mqc.madeira.gov.pt\/sa\/info-en\/dining-room\/","title":{"rendered":".4 | Dining room"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pbs-main-wrapper\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This dining room, of a more formal style, has a more eclectic style of decoration, composed essentially by English furniture, of the mid 19<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Sideboard made in mahogany veneer wood with its yellow metal handles reminds us of the empire models. A gold upholstered wood oval framed mirror of traditional Portuguese romanticism, from the end of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century should also be pointed out. We can also see the stamped English faience from mid 19<sup>th<\/sup> century, that was of much use on the Madeiran dining tables in the mid century and an <em>Art Noveau<\/em> pewter fruit bowl, of a European workshop circa 1900 with embossments and two prominent handles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Special reference should be given to four water colours, by Max R\u00f6mer (1878-1960) depicting regional scenery. These watercolours, like the ones previously mentioned, are part of the Quinta das Cruzes Museum collection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On a wall niche we find some objects relating to the dining services. We can distinguish English stamped and hand painted faience, from the mid and end of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century and also some silver plated copper and silver league objects from the late 18<sup>th<\/sup> and beginning of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> centuries, like a <em>cafeti\u00e8re,<\/em> tea pot, tea boxes as well as two candle holders.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This dining room, of a more formal style, has a more eclectic style of decoration, composed essentially by English furniture, of [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"info-template.php","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false},"categories":[14],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v17.8 -
