Nowadays, it is the reception of this museum. Some prints of the mid 19<sup>th<\/sup> century relating to Madeira have been hung up on the walls of the staircase, reminding us of an epochal environment, along with a mirror framed in carved wood, from a Portuguese workshop of the second half of the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On a niche, we can see a sculpture of <em>St. Anthony <\/em>in gilded wood, polychromed and upholstered, from an interesting local workshop of the mid 17<sup>th<\/sup> century. On the first landing, we can see a mid 19<sup>th<\/sup> century English print that portrays the parish church of Ponta Delgada, taken from a drawing of James Bulwer and turned into a print by William Westall, dated 1827 and part of the album <em>Views in the Madeiras.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0The adapted reception is one of the areas that maintains its original architectural form, where we can also see English and Madeiran furniture of the mid 19<sup>th<\/sup> century. As a reference we can see an 18<sup>th<\/sup> century small mirror framed in carved gilded wood of Portuguese origin. Of utmost importance are the prints relating to R. Westall\u2019s <em>Costume of Madeira,<\/em> about 1811, part of an album that was edited between 1811-1813. Still in the reception, we are able to see a print from the album <em>A History of Madeira,<\/em> edited by R.
