International Museum Day 2018

“Hyperconnected museums: new approaches, new audiences” was the theme chosen by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) – Portugal. The theme is chosen annually by this board and this year they wanted to point out the multiple forms of communication today, such as face-to-face, e-mail, instant messaging, telephone or Internet, the hyperconnectivity.

In the context of these celebrations, the Quinta das Cruzes Museum intends to point out the importance of recognizing the work of art as a point of origin for the creation of connections with other realities, whether they are the fruit of the Past or the Present and in what form these links now contribute to influence our cultural identity.
